I’m not particularly fond of Hugh Grant and very much not a fan of Drew Barrymore (preferring Kate Hudson’s SNL imitation to the real thing), but hey — it was Mother’s Day and we needed a romantic comedy for my mother-in-law. I’m really glad we rented this, as it was quite good and very funny. The 80s references, especially the PoP music, were brilliant, spot on… and terribly catchy. (Three days later, I’m still humming the main song.)

If you’re a fan of romantic comedies that are pretty silly, or if you want something mindless with plenty of hooky music without much plot, Music and Lyrics would be a good choice.
