Liveblogging tonight’s 24

Eh, Marilynn. I don’t mind Josh, but why do we have to have Marilynn.

Jack is deploying the Jack Hug! It is working, but it’s kind of wasted on Marilynn. I still think he should have tried it on Doyle. Oh no, he’s not trying to use her in some kind of plan, is he?

Nadia kicking terrorist butt. I knew she had it in her. “Hot, Republican, and dangerous,” says Byz. “Not that dangerous. But dangerous–and hot–enough,” he adds. Not sure what he’s trying to convey. Even Morris is joining in, with that shoulder of his.

Jack knows the schematics of this building better than anyone. I can kind of see him, back when he was head of CTU, skulking around in the bowels of the building on lunch breaks and stuff.

Cheng greets Josh with a cheery hello.

Ah, kids, they’re just so literal. Josh just doesn’t understand that Philip doesn’t always mean it when he points a gun at someone’s head and threatens to kill them.

“Sinophile.” Is that the word? Philip’s motive for all this seems a little on the whimsical side.

Cheng should have sprung for the bulletproof glass. Never cease to be impressed with Jack’s ability to do anything with a handgun, no matter what firepower the other side might have.

Where are they? In a subway? At the docks? Byz thinks it’s an “oil-refinery type structure” and thinks it’s a suitable place for the Jack/Cheng showdown. They’ve gone from the basement to the roof in like two seconds.

Josh booted Cheng!!!! Awesome. He’s much better than Marilynn, says Byz, and I agree.

Another perimeter! Why do they even bother at this point?

Byz: Josh has a good head on his shoulders. AT: He knows when somebody’s out of his mind.

I agree with the denizens of the Internet that it’s a little much of the Russians to get so mad about the whole “component” thing, when it’s their fault it was in the U.S. to begin with.

Noah: “No. The man Lisa is romantically involved with is spying for the Russians.”
Karen: “You mean YOU?”

Noah seems awfully grumpy for someone who was just champing at the bit to go to war a few hours ago. Isn’t he getting his wish?

Tom looks about as pleased at what’s happening with the surveillance camera as I am.

I like the Philip/Cheng face-off. Jack must get his facility with face-offs from his dad.

Nadia’s changed into a turtleneck? Was she chilly?

Ben Cram! That’s a good name.

How could Nadia have been responsible for a breach in security? She was head of ctu for like 15 minutes.

“Has there ever been a person from Division who has not been a complete jackass?” says Byz, taking the words out of my mouth.

Karen is taking things easy this hour–receiving Noah’s confessions, sipping tea. Urging Noah to lie to the president of Russia.

Marilynn has got to be a mole, or something. She’s got to contribute something in some way.

Noah: “Tell me a joke, so I’ll be in a good mood.” (Byz)

Subarov is one step ahead of Noah. Way to go, Subarov. He looks so kindly, but he’s a tough guy. I don’t really see how attacking U.S. military bases is going to help with the component problem though.

“Component” is starting to sound like a really funny word.

“He is a sociopath, she’s right about that.” Best line of the evening.

Ah, Grdenko. The good old days.

Jack has fallen for the “An urgent call for you” ruse once again.

“This will cause young Josh to grow up with a very positive view of America,” says Byz.
